As a site-respondent performance, "How to Have a Conversation with a Place" co-opts popular conversation advice for an interaction with a Romanian forest. The forest itself houses a gold mine, which produced the second largest recent European ecological disaster of a massive cyanide spill. The video was created during the Baia Mare Cross-disciplinary Artist Residency in September 2016 as a way to gently tune into a site of recent ecological disturbance. "How to Have a Conversation with a Place" was shot by new media artist Andra Roman and features the bodies of choreographer/dancer Marzena Krzemińska and writer/artist angela rawlings.
