RELATIONSHIP twins personae, transformative actions, and the personal with the social. The representational cycle of unravelling knitwork binds feminists within a foreign/familiar context of attempting to function within a system that refuses to support rapid change. Accompanied by an ecotourist soundtrack, RELATIONSHIP renders the absurdity of life, labour, and limited ecology knowledge within the perpetuum mobile. This piece was constructed when Polish-Canadian artist Maria Flawia Litwin came to Iceland to take care of me during my third round of chemotherapy. She brought with her one suitcase filled with a bottle of maple syrup and 25 kgs of knitwork. We took that knitwork into a lava field to make RELATIONSHIP.
